Welcome to stay in our fantastic fjord cottage! It is located within the city limits of Oslo, and it is a truly rare kind of property in the city landscape. You will be staying right on the water (literally only a couple of metres away) and the property has a long shoreline with excellent opportunities for swimming, diving, kayaking, and boating. Uniquely attractive place to stay in all seasons!

The property is located only 12 minutes away from the centre of Oslo, and there are frequent bus departures from just outside the property from early morning to late evening.

outdoor area
The charming outdoor area has 180 degrees of stunning views of the fiord and its islands.

There is an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, an outdoor hot-water shower, a heat lamp, reclining chairs and much more.

the interior
The interior is designed by architect Andreas Tingulstad, and strives to make the most out of every cubic millimeter.

The interior is modern, has specially designed furniture, and is well lit with ligthing from Expo Nova. A combined heat pump and air conditioning unit ensures comfortable indoor temperatures around the year.

The kitchen has a Miele induction cooktop, a micro­wave oven, a dish­washer, a refrigerator and freezer, a coffee machine, knives, porcelain, and glasses.

In the living room, there s a Sony flatscreen integrated into the wall. The dining area (which can actually seat upto 10 persons) has a panoramic alcove with an 180 degree view of the Oslo fjord, including its islands and the buildings of downtown Oslo. The dining table can be lowered and converted into a romantic double bed for two adults.

The bathroom features Bisazza mosaic, sandblasted glass and Philippe Stark interior design.

several sleeping arrangements possible
While the fjord cottage is not large, it has several opportunities for your sleeping arrangements.

First, there is a bedroom with four bunk beds (and spacious sliding-door storage under the lower beds).

Second, there are two sleeping lofts, both of which can sleep two adults.

Third, the dining area can be converted into a double bed and then offers a the opportunity to enjoy the stunning views also while you fall sleep and wake up.

There are light-proof roller blinds on every window. Used in conjunction with the air conditioning, it makes it easy to regulate both light and temperature even in the middle of summer.

There is a boat and a kayak available for rent.

While this property is a heavenly place to spend time in the warmer part of the year, it is a uniquely attractive place to stay in all seasons. The immediate vicinity to the sea provides for stunning views in all kinds of weather. Some winters, the fiord is covered by ice thick enough to allow skating, skiing, ski sailing and kite snowboarding. The combination of heated floors and the powerful heat pump ensures comfortable indoor temperature all winter long.

Guests have access to our beautiful garden, and to the fantastic swimming, diving and fishing opportunities that are available from the property.

As mentioned above, guests may also rent a kayak or boat from us. (In the interest of safety, rental presupposes that you have previous experience with kayaking or boating.)

The rental is a separate and self-contained unit on our seaside property. We live in a villa nearby, and we are happy to provide whatever advise you might need for your stay in the Oslo area.
