Nice double room in modern house. In the countryside (Almere Buiten) yet only (42 minutes by train) from Amsterdam Central Station. Ideal for those who like to stay in a quiet environment but with the city of Amsterdam within reach, lovers of nature and or expats. Room is private, rest of the house to be shared with host (if there).

Sights: In the direct environment of the accommodation there are some beautiful areas for hiking and/or running, such as 'Kotterbos', national parc 'Oostvaardersplassen', 'Wilgenbos' and 'Noorderplassen.

In Amsterdam there are too many sights to mention here. In short: whatever you're looking for: Amsterdam has it. From museum to gay bars, clubs, saunas & shops. Gay maps available at the accommodation.

Note: each 1st weekend of August it's Amsterdam Gay Pride. Room still available for the upcoming Amsterdam Gay Pride!

How to get there:

From Schiphol Airport;
> direct train (Sprinter) to station Almere Oostvaarders from platform 1-2. Leaves each 11 an 41 minutes past the hour. Your destination is Station Almere Oostvaarders. Travel time = 53 minutes, costs per person: eur 8.80

In case you travel from Amsterdam Central Station:

From Amsterdam Central Station, platform 11, you can take a direct train to station Almere Oostvaarders each 10 and 40 minutes past the hour. Travel time = 42 minutes. The last direct train from Amsterdam Central Station to Almere Oostvaarders leaves at 00.40. If you want tot take a later train you can take the one leaving at 00.52 or 1.52, but in these cases you will have 1 transfer at Station Weesp.

Costs of 1-way train ticket from Amsterdam Central Station to Almere Oostvaarders: eur 7.20 per person; a-way ticket costs eur 14.40 per person.

Please be aware that for Public Transport in the Netherlands you need a Public Transport chip card (ov chip card), that you can use for all means of public transport in and to/from Amsterdam. Please do not mix this one up with the gvb tickets, since those are only valid in Amsterdam and not accepted in trains to and from Amsterdam.
You can buy this ov chip card and put value on it at the machines with the blue ns (ns = the name of our national railway company) logo on top at all train stations.
You use the card by scanning it when entering and leaving the bus/tram/metro/train station.

From station Almere Oostvaarders to my home:

By bus: go down the stairs and turn right, and then slightly to the left to bus stop of bus line 11. Take bus line 11 (direction station Almere Buiten) to bus stop 'Eilandenbuurt Zuid', which is the 2nd stop from the station. Just before the bus turns right to the stop you need to get out you pass my house on your right hand (third house from the corner). travel time: approximately 2 minutes.

By foot: go down the stairs and turn right, cross the road (called 'Evenaar') and walk straight ahead away from the station (take the street with a small take away pizza restaurant on the corner). at the end of that street (3rd house from the corner) is my house. approximately 12 minutes walking).
